Terms and Conditions
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using ReNav ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
These terms apply to all users, including caregivers, family members, and medical professionals accessing the Service on behalf of a patient.
2. Description of Service
ReNav is an assistive communication web application designed to help physically paralysed patients communicate through head movement and blink detection. A caregiver asks a question aloud and the patient answers in one of three ways, chosen to suit the movement they still have:
- Head movement — turning the head towards one of four on-screen answers, then blinking to select it
- Blink only — a short blink steps through the four answers, a long blink selects one; no head movement is required
- Morse — the patient spells a free-form answer of their own using short and long blinks as dots and dashes
The Service uses:
- Browser-based face tracking (MediaPipe FaceMesh) to detect head position and blinks
- Google Gemini AI to generate contextual answer options from caregiver-spoken questions. Morse mode does not use the AI at all — the patient composes their own answer, and neither the question nor the answer is sent to Google in that mode
- Web Speech API for text-to-speech output of the answer
ReNav is a communication aid tool and is not a medical device. It is not intended to replace professional medical care, diagnosis, or treatment.
3. Medical Disclaimer
ReNav is not a certified medical device and has not been evaluated by any medical regulatory authority (including but not limited to the CDSCO, FDA, or CE). The Service is provided as a general-purpose assistive communication tool only.
We strongly recommend that all clinical decisions continue to be made by qualified healthcare professionals. ReNav should be used as a supplementary communication aid, not as a substitute for medical assessment.
4. Account Registration
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account.
Accounts are intended for use by a single patient and their designated caregivers. Sharing accounts across multiple unrelated patients is not permitted.
5. Plans, Free Tier and Payment
The Service is operated by Zephor Innovations Private Limited and is offered on a free tier and on paid plans.
Free tier. Any account may use the Service free of charge, subject to a daily allowance of AI-generated answer options (currently five per day). The allowance resets each day at midnight Indian Standard Time. We may change the size of the free allowance; if we reduce it, we will give notice on this page and on the pricing page.
Morse mode is not metered. Morse mode — in which the patient spells their own answer rather than choosing from AI-generated options — is available without limit on every plan, including the free tier, and does not count towards any allowance. We do this deliberately: it is the only mode available to some patients, and we will not put a patient's ability to communicate behind a payment.
Paid plans. Paid plans remove the daily allowance. Prices are listed on the pricing page. There is no payment gateway on this site: you contact us, we tell you how to pay, and we enable the plan on your account by hand.
No auto-renewal. Because plans are enabled manually and we hold no card or mandate, nothing renews automatically and nothing is ever charged to you without you choosing to pay again. A paid plan simply lapses on its end date, and the account returns to the free tier — it is never suspended or deleted.
Refunds. If you are unhappy within 7 days of paying, write to us and we will refund you in full, no reason needed. After 7 days we will refund the unused whole months of an annual plan on request. Refunds are made to the account the payment came from.
If you cannot afford it. We provide the paid Service free of charge to anyone for whom cost is a barrier — just ask, using the form on the pricing page. This is offered at our discretion as a matter of policy rather than as a contractual right, and we do not ask for proof.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the Service
- Share your account credentials publicly
- Use the Service to generate harmful, abusive, or illegal content
- Misrepresent patient information or use the Service fraudulently
7. Intellectual Property
All content, software, and design of the ReNav Service are the intellectual property of Zephor / ReNav. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive licence to use the Service for its intended purpose.
AI-generated answer options are produced on your behalf using the Gemini API and are not claimed as our intellectual property.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ReNav and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, including but not limited to communication errors, AI-generated content, or interruption of service.
The total liability of ReNav for any claim shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or ₹1,000, whichever is greater. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
9. Service Availability
We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, updates, or suspend the Service with or without notice.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will endeavour to notify registered users of material changes by email.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
